Manipulation: Why Gun Control Has Yet To Be Implemented

You would think that after 17 people died in the recent Parkland school shooting, people would have the sense to lock guns away and forbid mentally unstable people to be armed with it.

BUUUT apparently the government decides to arm teachers with guns instead. This is bad because: one, not all teachers are mentally stable enough to do so, two, it can get to someone else who's actually dangerous, three, it's not exactly helpful when you may very well accidentally shoot innocents in all the panic.

It only came up because the government fears putting a ban in case of the NRA. Any misstep and they get kicked out. The question is, how did the NRA get so powerful? A lot of people were convinced that its because of the amount of money they gave to the politicians. News flash: that's not where they spent most of their money at.

Truth is, their power lies in their membership, and their ability to influence them. They spent billions on making campaign guides and advertisements. This proved effective, especially against opponents. One example was when they managed to tear down US senator Mary Landrieu by making a particularly paranoia inducing ad where a weaponless mother and her baby got shot by a burglar breaking into their home. The ad ended with the words "Mary Landrieu voted to take away your gun rights." She lost.

So Marco Rubio was partially right when he said the power comes not from the money, but from "the millions of people who supports the gun rights agenda".

Why I Started Writing Again

PROMPTS :: Your writing journey. Since I started high school I stopped writing, I got too busy preparing for the 6 rounds of exams I ended up taking. And when I started Uni, things just got busier. Such a big difference from my junior high days, I wrote 4-7 journal entries for English class, much like this one.
